About This Hotel
Fairmont Chateau Whistler
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler has been Whistler’s landmark hotel since opening its doors in 1989. Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain in the Upper Village the Chateau Whistler is just a five-minute walk from Whistler Village.
The architectural mandate when building The Fairmont Chateau Whistler was to ‘infuse the charm and style of other Canadian chateaux built earlier in the century, into a modern structure.’ The interior design was under the direction of internationally acclaimed interior designer Frank Nicholson.
The Fairmont Chateau Whistler expanded in 1997 with the addition of 221 guestrooms for a total of 550 rooms, a new 12,000 square foot ballroom, four breakout meeting rooms, rooftop garden terrace, and an expanded spa facility. Bearing the signature style of The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, the grand decor brings the old and new together in a seamless meld of historical style and modern beauty.
